How It All Began:

My love for baking began in the heart of the kitchen, where I watched my grandmother make pound cakes, Caribbean-style bread pudding, and tropical flavored fruit tarts all by hand.  I originally started baking as a way to honor her and to keep her sweet traditions alive. For years, baking remained a passionate hobby of mine while I pursued a career as an Environmental Health Specialist.

Eventually, I knew my true calling was in the kitchen. Deciding to chase my dream, I traded health inspections and policy papers for pastry scales, and I enrolled at Baltimore International College, where I earned my degree in professional cooking and baking.

In 2007, that dream became a reality when I opened the doors to Simply Desserts. What started as a leap of faith has grown into a beloved boutique bakeshop. Today, I am proud to be known for personalized customer service and scratch-made confections. In fact, one of my favorite parts of the job is baking for the same families year after year, and turning first-time customers into lifelong friends.
